Our History

Team 1736, Robot Casserole, formed in 2006. Our name comes from a student suggestion. The nameless student told the group that Peoria consumes the most green bean casserole per capita in the United States. Robot Casserole is the first FIRST team that Caterpillar Inc. sponsored. Our team is one of twenty sponsored by Caterpillar Inc. and one of seventeen United States teams. Coincidentally, this is twentieth year of FIRST.

Our team is composed of students from area high schools and home schools, including Richwoods, Dunlap, Peoria, Illinois Valley Central, East Peoria, and Brimfield. We have had three teams branch off from ours in the past three years-teams #2481, 2081, and 2040. This year, we are working with Metamora students to help them form a rookie team for next year.
